How to Draw The Mad Hatter

Step 1

For this first step of our guide on drawing the mad hatter, we will start with the garment from which he takes his name, his characteristic top hat. The portrait we’ll work on in this guide is established on her arrival in the classic Disney animated film.

First, use a wavy line for the base of the brim of her hat. Try to replicate the line as closely as possible as it appears in the reference image. Next, add a slightly curved rectangular shape at the top of the edge. Next, you can draw the top of her hat. This shape is drawn with another curved line; it gets narrower near the base and broader as the height increases.

Step 2

In this second step, you have his hat ready, and it’s time to start drawing the face and hair for your Mad Hatter design. First, start by drawing two small circles next to each other. Add a point to each and pay attention to their eyes.

She can then draw some eyebrow shapes over her eyes and use a comprehensive, rounded line for her bulbous nose. Next, add her open, smiling mouth under her nose and draw some square shapes for her deer teeth.
