Does Dior Escale a Portofino Have Citrus Smell?

‘Escale a Portofino’ is a fragrance that evokes a vacation in a port town in Italy. Inspired by a trip to the house of Christian Dior to the Mediterranean, the fragrance contains 16 natural essences from Italian and Mediterranean regions.

Citrus aroma

The citrus aroma in Dior Escale a Port officino is a wonderful contrast to the warm, dry woods and spices of the classic colognes. This Mediterranean-inspired fragrance opens with a sharp citrus top note that melds with a softer citrus heart. After a brief tingle, the eau de toilette fades to a woodsy finish. This citrus-based eau de toilette is available at select locations and Dior boutiques.



It was launched in May of this year and is part of a yearly fragrance cruise collection. Dior Escale a Portofino citrus fragrance contains notes of Sicilian petitgrain, Italian citron, and Calabrian bergamot. Other ingredients include bitter almond, juniper berry, white musk, caraway, and galbanum.

Cinnamon

The citrusy, bright citrus in Escale a Portofino begins sharp, melding into an orange blossom soliflore. The middle has an almond bitterness, and the drydown fades out with orange blossom on wood. Among the other orange blossom colognes, this one is one of my favorites.

Caraway

Christian Dior is releasing a new fragrance in May called Escale a Portofino. Inspired by the Italian Riviera, the scent combines Sicilian bergamot, Calabrian bergamot, and Italian citron. It also features Sicilian petitgrain, juniper berry, and white musk. Other notes in this fragrance include caraway, galbanum, and cypress.



This cologne is citrusy and bright. It opens with a crisp orange blossom note, and later devolves into a sweet, clean citrus musk. By the time it reaches its final stage, it has become a fully-layered, sultry, and elegant perfume. Its floral, woody, and citrus notes make it an easy choice.

White musk

Dior’s Escale a Portofino is a cologne that first debuted in 2008. The scent possesses a combination of notes including Sicilian bergamot, Calabrian bergamot, bitter almond, Sicilian petitgrain, and juniper berry. It also includes notes of white musk, caraway, and galbanum. The scent is available in select stores and boutiques worldwide.

It starts sharply but mellows into an orange blossom soliflore. Dior Escale a Portofino ends with the soft fade of orange blossom on wood. It is a classic cologne, and one of my favorites in the line.

Parati’s warm woodiness

Dior Escale a Parati is a fresh and citrus fragrance with a hint of sultry spice. The top notes of lemon, bitter orange, and green lemon are balance by the woody warmth of amber and blond wood. A cool hint of mint rounds out the scent. The warm woodiness of the base notes is offset by a hint of crispness and green accord.

The fragrance starts out sharp, but quickly mellows into a soliflore of orange blossom. A faint almond bitterness is add in the middle, and the fragrance ends softly with a warm woody note. Overall, the scent is a classic cologne, and one of my favorites.
